Brodart featured in Furniture & Interiors magazine.

Chicago Furniture & Interiors magazine has featured Brodart as a leader in library furniture. The article includes information about the success that Brodart has achieved in the library furniture industry for the sixty years it has been operating.

Randall Mackenzie, vice president of Brodart’s furniture division, has accredited their success to the fact that the company is able to provide libraries with all of the supplies, furniture and books needed for operation. Flexible designs and commitment to quality customer service are also important to Brodart, and further add to the many accomplishments they have achieved.

“We have the highest sales and the most comprehensive product offering in our industry,” says MacKenzie. He added that Brodart’s success is increased by the availability of using both wood and metal in the furniture, which allows for more flexibility in the types of designs and products they can offer. In addition, Brodart products are designed to last for twenty years, a feat which has given them a reputation for providing quality products at fair prices.

While Brodart has become familiar with success, there have also been times that challenged the company. Mackenzie stated that during the early part of the decade, economic circumstances caused school construction to slow.  In order to compete with the competition, Brodart focused on becoming more efficient. Numerous updates were made and as a result, Brodart was able to cut overhead manufacturing expenses by 20% without reducing production capacity.

Recent investments in new manufacturing equipment have also allowed Brodart to produce specialized products more efficiently. Custom furniture can now be manufactured for close to the price of standard furniture, which makes Brodart a fierce competitor in the high-end market.

Furniture & Interiors magazine is a business-to-business publication that highlights the best practices in different areas of the furniture industry.
